LOL I wasn't going to do this, but I did get really bored tonight....it's my birthday on the fifth!!! and I can't wait it will be soo cool I have all my friends (most of them anyways) going to the Ren Faire with me and then we are having pizza and some cake with a man on it (hopefully) and then we are going to go see a movie (hancock) and then we are going to go to sleep eventually and then I am going to wake up and finish painting my room cuz I am getting the carpet finally in there on the 10th which makes me really happy, and you are suppose to read this really quickly and think of Spong bob.
Well I got two birthday presents early, one was because she didn't want me to hate it infront of my friends (but I love it, it is a wolf necklace, really pretty and I wear it everyday) and the other was...and I can't believe she did this, but she is my best friend for a reason...I saw this snake at Scales N Tails when I was sort of working there one day some week ago, it is a hog Island red tailed boa, anyways I fell in love with it immedently, so I put ten bucks down and said I will slowly pay it off, the most expensive snake up to date ($220) so I thought maybe in late August I will own it....anyways you can proabably guess what happens next but I am going to tell you anyways mostly because the story is not complete by my standards. So calls me at work and she sounds really excited and she's like "you need to be over here at seven I have something amazing." So on my way over there I was like it is either a man or a snake...that is the only two things she really gets excited about...and can you believe it, I got there ten minutes early! A record!!! Which means I have to wait until she is done eating, and she tells me how Kenshin (my milk snake) got out of the sealed contaier he was in and it was a pain to get him to come out from behind the only heavey peice that she has in her room. After that was done we go down stairs and she is like happy mostly birthday (or something like that) and hands me the snake that I was going to get....let me tell you it was beyond amazing it made my month!!!! She is such a great friend to me (even though she owes me twevele men) and I love her alot more then I did earlier. So yes I feel sort of bad because Ryuk ( her name) doesn't have any thing amazing in her cage...even her water bowl is this glass thing that I found...no cool designs or anything, but I think she is just really happy that she has this big cage to move around in, since she was in such a small space at scales.
Also on a good note (which also reminds me that I have had a lot of bad things happen this week, but the good is so great that it out weighs the bad) Poof, my bearded Dragon is finally eating something besides her salad. Meal worms. She had like six today, all at one go. I was thinking that I should give her more but they do have to last me a few days and I only got sixteen. SOO happy!!!!! I wouldn't mind that she eats these the rest of her life...though I am sure Crickets are mucho better, it beats force feeding her every other day.
I think I should tell you the bad parts, only becuase it will be some benefits to you guys I hope, and if you can pass this on that would me awsome, I think you can tell the people I would like to bring to attention (and I will say I am sorry in advance becuse I know I will do some ranting)...I work at a vets office and this week we have had more dogs come in sick then we have all year so far, granted we did make 2400 in one day, which is pretty good considering that there is only one doctor working there. Which pretty much means that there is a virus going around, or that they are getting into something, the only time you should bring your dog in (this will save you money) is if it has been throwing up and/or having diarrhea for more than three or four days. Make sure that plenty of water is avaliable and that a bland diet or rice and yogurt (not combined) are given at small amounts.
A reason to go to a vet: if their diarrhea is bloody that is usally a bad sign but can easliy be fixed with medication and they have been throwing up for more then four days, also never wait until the weekend to call the vet....they will end up sending you somewhere else and you will have to pay twice as much.
We have had a lot of pravo cases this year, more then we usually get by double. Parvo is a virus that can kill a puppy extremly quickly, and it can be passed on to other dogs. This happens when the puppy is not kept up on the distemper Vaccine, it is extremly important that the puppy is given the vaccine at 8 weeks then a booster at 11-12 weeks and another booster at 13-14 weeks, this will prevent the puppy in getting it if it comes across another that has it. Parvo is usally seen in Puppies and in older dogs, so keep your dog up to date. It really isn't that hard!
unfortunately, this is where I must rant: People get these puppies and they don't think that they have to take care of them, and when they do get sick, guess what they end up getting, now the owner should feel extremly stupid, one for not taking care of it and two because as soon as they find out why, they know the staff thinks they are stupid, which they are. No one should get any kind of animal if they can't afford to take care of it. We get alot of people ( a trailer park is behind us( which I must point out that most of the people back there takes extremly good care of their pets, while we do have some that do not)) they are given a dog and then they don't take care of it because they don't have the money to, is it really that hard to tell someone that they can afford a dog at the moment?? Seriously, and why the hell would any one give some one else a dog as a gift???? I personally would be pissed if some one just handed me a puppy with out telling me first. Always ask before giving. Now I feel like I should mention cats which can get sick. But they are a lot better at hiding something then dogs are. And we aren't talking about cats really, mostly dogs. It's just that it seems at least once a week we get a puppy in that is sick with Parvo and the idiot owners can't afford to take care of it. Last year we had to put down a mommy dog and her three puppies because they all had parvo and the owners couldn't afford anything. Just get your dog vaccanated okay? Seriously 70$ once a year is not that much, besides you can even get them for 30$ or less.
